German musician Erik Leuthäuser has been a restless force in contemporary jazz music for several years. His latest album "Sucht" contains collaborations with Dexter Francis Mason and Wanja Slavin. It was released on the Berlin label Fun in the Church (2024). Erik Leuthäuser is known for challenging social conventions through gender-neutral clothing and inspiring others by daring to reject traditional masculinity and making self-acceptance fashionable. Almost single-handedly, the singer has created his very own jazz idiom with his German-language singing. Erik Leuthäuser integrates the character of the language into his unmistakable sound. With breathtaking intensity, the singer achieves the rare unity of music and lyricism.
