Atmospherically incredibly dense, voluptuous and highly sensual - the Sheen Trio shapes its unique music like a mythical means of transportation. Delicately and richly nuanced, strands of jazz, rock and experimental music are interwoven with musical influences from Iran, the homeland of clarinettist and composer Shabnam Parvaresh. The trio's sound resembles a musical migration in which newly found places are explored in a calm and reflective, but sometimes also excitingly impulsive way. Together with Ula Martyn-Ellis on guitar and Philipp Buck on drums, she creates experimental compositions in which clarinettist Shabnam Parvaresh tells her own special stories: Of bad internet connections in the 1990s, of childhood memories and freedom struggles in Iran.
