BLUFF is the project of four young jazz musicians based in Hamburg. The quartet is oriented towards the young New York scene and incorporates this inspiration into its own music. Role models such as Ambrose Akinmusire and Immanuel Wilkins can clearly be found in BLUFF's compositions. The four musicians understand each other so well that the music almost creates itself: Starting from the melody, they break out into remarkable dynamic arcs and yet always find their way back to the refined simplicity of their own musical style. The band radiates a joy of playing on stage that spills over into the audience.
In five years as a permanent formation, BLUFF has toured Germany several times and can boast appearances at the Elbjazz and JazzBaltica festivals as well as the ensemble award of the Young German Jazz Prize 2022. Their debut album "Sleight of Hand" followed at the beginning of 2023. Now it's time for a brand new program that once again demonstrates the musicians' musical agility and creativity. So lots of new impressions. That's a promise!
"The new album is full of surprises, with clever compositions and arrangements, great dynamics and, above all, great interpretations by everyone. The musicians present a musical kaleidoscope on this album that you will enjoy listening to very often. BLUFF is part of our future, even now." - Nils Landgren
