Jehnny Beth with new album "You, Heartbreaker, You" live in Germany in October

Jehnny Beth is one of the most dazzling musicians in the rock game. With Savages, she stormed onto the stages in 2013 - in the truest sense of the word. In a way, the band's dark, driving sound anticipated the post-punk hype that was still spreading a few years earlier. Their poetic, angry, erotic solo debut "To Love Is To Live" (2020) blended jazz, electronic noise, industrial and pop to create a unique sound.

Now Jehnny Beth is back with the new single "Broken Rib" - and it should please Savages fans in particular. The track is dark, aggressive, hypnotic. Just the way she sings this line "We learn to breathe with a broken rib" with clenched teeth to shredding guitars and then breaks out into a loud scream - that's great cinema. Jehnny Beth said: "I knew that if I ever sang again, it would have to start with a scream." The song "Broken Rib", but also the album "You Heartbreaker, You" announced for the end of August, were like a catharsis for her. "We live in dark times," she says, "full of barbarism and tragedy. It was clear to me: either we learn to scream really loudly against it, or we will have to learn how to whisper."

The record will be released on August 29, 2025 via Fiction Records. Jehnny Beth will then go on tour in Europe in October and will play three shows in Germany from the middle of the month.
