Jenseits der Trennlinien. Filmabend zu Sergej Parakanov

In the organizer's words:

In Europe's politically fragile eastern neighborhood, it is often artistic voices that create connections across borders. Sergei Parajanov - born in Tbilisi, of Armenian descent, influenced by his work in the Ukraine - is exemplary of this cultural interweaving. With his unique visual language and radically poetic style, he transcended national categories and created a body of work that continues to inspire today.

We will be showing "The Color of Pomegranate", Parajanov's best-known film: a visual homage to the poet Sayat-Nova - full of symbolism, music and cultural depth. Afterwards, we will talk to guests from the participating communities about Parajanov's significance today - and about art as a space for exchange in Eastern Europe.

The project is part of the new networking format of LpB BW and the Academy of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart and follows on from a networking event "Together in Germany" at Haus auf der Alb Bad Urach.

In cooperation with the Academy of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart, the Academy Association of the Academy of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart and the Landeszentrale für politische Bildung Baden-Württemberg.
