"It is striking how the dancers seem to dance for themselves, for their own pleasure, and at the same time dance with each other, as if they were giving each other the necessary energy and imagination." Javier López Piñón, Theaterkrant, 29.08.2024

"It is notable how the dancers seem to be dancing for themselves, for their own pleasure, and at the same time to be dancing with each other as if they are giving each other the energy and imagination they need." Javier López Piñón, Theaterkrant, 29.08.2024

Award-winning choreographer Jeremy Nedd and the Impilo Mapantsula group combine the energetic and highly virtuosic Pantsula dance, once an expression of apartheid resistance in South Africa, with the spiritual and cosmic-inspired jazz of Alice Coltrane and Bheki Mseleku. From the sound of these two jazz legends, Nedd and his five-piece ensemble create a cosmic sonic map (Jeremy Nedd) in which rhythm and improvisation merge into a form of expression of Afrofuturism - a rousing and poetic journey through the past, future and present with a stopover in the galaxy.
