With Antechamber, Berlin-based sound artist and computer musician Jessica Ekomane (* 1989, FR) presents her latest sound installation on the top floor of KW. With this new commissioned work, Ekomane continues her investigation into the transformative power of sound, combining her research into African mathematical systems of thought with electronic compositional practices. In her works, she utilizes the cathartic and physical effects of sounds created through the interplay of rhythmic patterns, melodies, noises and psychoacoustic effects. The multi-channel sound installation transforms the attic into a place of physical listening experience and offers a space to reflect on different forms of knowledge, social listening habits and their cultural imprint.
