... a must for all fans of 70s progressive rock...
The Frankfurt instrumental band Glasgow Coma Scale, named after a scale used in medicine for disorders of consciousness, is listed in the media as a post-rock band according to its main orientation. So a fairly relaxed, grooving experience? Certainly not - a huge surge of energy flows through the sound of GCS. Genre-typical guitar loops alternate with crashing riffs, the band doesn't just operate out of their own scene, it's more a fusion of different styles.
The band possesses the fascinating ability to change the sound color almost imperceptibly, yet sustainably within a piece. When a song starts from a mystical electronic snippet, it sounds very ambient, but through a sensitive handling of intensity, tension build-up and pressure, it quickly develops into a highly energetic track, always powerful and powerful, rousing and ecstatic. The themes develop wonderfully in circling repetitive guitars into ever higher spheres and open your mind. It's like a mind-expanding drug - it's simply thrillingly good music.
The compositions exude a strong, suggestive power, creating images and landscapes in your own brain. Consciousness expansion based on sheet music. Get in, fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the trip with Glasgow Coma Scale.
