"Deconstruction [...] can be loud, but it is not brutal, spiteful or aggressive. It has wit and charm, the criticism of show business goes hand in hand with the fun of the show." Eva-Maria Magel, FAZ, 15.09.2024
"The deconstruction [...] can get quite loud, but it is not violent, not spiteful or aggressive. It has wit and charm, its critique of showbusiness goes hand in hand with enjoying the show." Eva-Maria Magel, FAZ, 15.09.2024
Inspired by black pop stars of past decades and Pina Bausch's company, probably the best-known recent export of high culture, Joana Tischkau and seven performers dissect the home narrative of the German entertainment industry. The ensemble strides through the annals of hit song history, shawl-sounding and exorcising its folk spirit, carnations and straightness. For her new work, Tischkau digs out another box from the "German Museum for Black Entertainment and Black Music" and continues her artistic research into Black German cultural history.

Singing sha-la-la, the ensemble strides through the annals of pop history and exorcizes it of folksiness, carnations and straightness.
