Joanna Duda Trio

In the organizer's words:

The concept of the Joanna Duda Trio: the three Poles want to function as a single, self-contained organism that feeds on small rhythmic irregularities, short, circular motifs and many different sounds. Duda and her two companions not only use the sounds of their acoustic instruments, but also electronics, primarily in the form of self-produced samples. Layer upon layer of sound is created in a collaboration that knows no classic division of roles into soloist/accompanist.

The Joanna Duda Trio has been around since 2017 and has already proven itself musically at festivals in Canada, Finland and the UK.

The bandleader seems to have a maker's gene in her: born in Gdansk, Joanna Duda works as a multi-media artist and curator and has been involved in projects that combine early music and contemporary improvisation. Her open-mindedness also benefits her trio, which fearlessly combines futuristic, surreal grooves, jazz, ambient and minimal music.
