Short bio Johann Scherer
Born in 1982, founded his first band at the age of fifteen, signed a record deal with Sony Music at the age of 17, recorded his first album "Score!" in 1999 and went on tour in Germany. After graduating from high school, he got a record deal for his solo project "Karamel" and founded the recording studio "Rekordbox" in 2003. Since 2005, he has been running the recording studio "Clouds Hill" with an associated label and music publishing company.
Johann Scheerer works as a music producer with internationally renowned musicians such as Omar Rodríguez-López, At the Drive-In, Alice Phoebe-Lou, Vännäs Kasino, Wolf Biermann and Peter Doherty.
As a film producer, he won the prestigious IDA Documentary award for Best Music Documentary for the documentary "Omar & Cedric - If This Ever Gets Weird".

His highly acclaimed first novel "Wir sind dann wohl die Angehörigen" was published in 2018 and made into a film by Hans-Christian Schmid (23/5 film) in 2021/2022.
This was followed in 2021 by his second book, the coming-of-age novel "Unheimlich Nah".
His new novel "Play" will be published on 03.04.2025.
