An outstanding theater event is coming to Berlin in June 2025: John Malkovich and Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė will be on stage together at the Admiralspalast when Bernard-Marie Koltès' haunting chamber play "In the Loneliness of the Cotton Fields" is staged under the direction of Timofey Kulyabin.
Over three evenings - on June 9, 10 and 11, 2025 - the Admiralspalast will be transformed into a space of intense, poetic encounters between two strangers whose dialog about power, desire and loneliness develops into a captivating duel.
With his atmospherically dense directorial style, Kulyabin impressively brings out the linguistic depth and emotional impact of the play. In the confrontation between the dealer (Malkovich) and the customer (Dapkūnaitė), a play full of tension, subtle humor and philosophical abysses unfolds.
The production will be shown in the original language (English) with German surtitles.
