Jonas Engel - Own Your Bones

OWN YOUR BONES (DE/CH/LV) received the Avignon Jazz Award immediately after their formation and released their debut album on the Klaengrecords label of the renowned Klaeng collective. In numerous concerts in Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium, the band has already presented its music to an always enthusiastic audience on festival and club stages, with partners such as the Goethe-Institut, jazzahead!, Musikfonds or Initiative Musik.

Complex musical themes and spectral sounds are treated without shying away from free improvisation or folkloristic melodies. The band's free-spirited playing character translates the compositions into an emotional, authentic concert experience between power play and complex sound confrontation. The ensemble has just released its latest album on Tangible Music, which was recorded and mixed at Studio La Buissonne in Provence and was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award.
