Jonas Weichsel: Sekunde

Galerie Thomas Schulte is pleased to present a new solo exhibition by Jonas Weichsel. Building on his analytical painting practice of the last 15 years, Weichsel pursues an innovative approach that combines analog and digital processes. Through scanning, collaging and digital manipulation, he transforms color studies, watercolors and print materials into complex compositions. The deliberate combination of traditional painting techniques with digital processes creates dynamic interactions in which elements overlap, comment on and challenge each other. Weichsel's works play with sharpness and blurring, microscopic details and gestural forms of expression - and thus open up new spaces of perception.
