For many years now, Joo Kraus has quite rightly been one of the most renowned jazz trumpeters in our part of the world. Joo may not have been born with the trumpet, but it was handed down to him from school. Catapulted into the scene at the age of 19 by winning first prize in the national "Jugend musiziert" competition, he gained five years of stage experience with the electro-rock band "Kraan". Together with band colleague Hellmut Hattler, Joo also founded the hip-jazz duo "Tab Two" in the early 1990s. Joo has also been active as a songwriter for many years and has written for Tina Turner, among others.

Joo Kraus' new album No Excuse - A musically colorful bag, stamp collection album, socio-political discourse & one thing: good vibes! Crossing genre boundaries and dissolving style labels - that is Joo Kraus' great passion. The multi-award-winning trumpeter lives out this passion to the full with his new album No Excuse.

Joo Kraus is Joo Kraus. What sounds so self-evident is by no means the case these days, because in the mercantile everyday life of the music industry, names are often reduced to brands. Not so with Joo Kraus. The fact that the trumpeter from Ulm made music history and earned himself a legendary reputation worldwide with the acid jazz duo Tab Two in the nineties is just as important to him as his proverbial activity in such diverse fields as krautrock, jazz, hip hop, Latin, ambient and singer/songwriter. For his new album "No Excuse", only one question counts: What do I have to say today? After a journey of almost forty years through almost all vegetation zones of music, Joo Kraus no longer needs any explanations. The music can simply be what it is: one hundred percent Joo Kraus.

Joo Kraus recorded around eight tracks during a band session with drummer Torsten Krill, bassist Veit Hübner, guitarist Jo Ambros and Bobbi Fischer on piano and electric piano. The resulting mood alone would have made an album. Other songs were written on completely different occasions, some of them with additional guests.
