The British R&B singer comes to Hamburg and Munich in July 2025

With her soulful, jazz-influenced vocals and emotional lyrics, English singer Jorja Smith builds on a retro-influenced pop and R&B sound that has been crowned with great success since her debut single "Blue Lights". Critics were quick to draw comparisons with singers such as Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Amy Winehouse. Drake in particular, who named Jorja Smith's song "Where Did I Go?" as his favorite song in 2016 and took her on his UK tour, the singer quickly became known in her home country. Collaborations with Kanye West, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, Young Thug and Burna Boy also brought her worldwide attention. Her debut album "Lost & Found" entered the UK album charts at number 3 in 2018. In the same year, she won the Critics' Choice Award at the BRIT Awards, whereupon she was honored a year later in the Best British Female Solo Artist category and nominated for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In 2023, she released her latest album "Falling Or Flying", which she presented on an extensive tour. In July, Jorja Smith will be playing in Hamburg and Munich.

As the daughter of a neo-soul musician, Jorja Smith's childhood was shaped by music. Growing up in the West Midlands of England, she learned piano and oboe at an early age and also received classical singing lessons from school onwards. She wrote her first song at the age of 11. According to her own statement, she was obsessed with Amy Winehouse's debut album "Frank" alongside reggae, punk, hip-hop and R&B music, which inspired her greatly. In January 2016, she released her debut single "Blue Lights" via SoundCloud and was signed by Sony/ATV in the same year, after which she toured the US supporting Bruno Mars. The release of her debut album "Lost & Found" (2018) was followed by the EP "Be Right Back" in 2021. 2023 saw the release of 'Falling Or Flying', described by NME as an "uncompromising and captivating treasure of an album". In July 2024, her single "High" was released, which gains in complexity with intricate beats and ethereal soundscapes as well as Jorja Smith's mesmerizing vocals and was recently also released as an acoustic version after a remix by DJ Cole.
