Judith Butler in social work - theory meets practice

With Prof. Dr. CARLA SCHRIEVER

How can the theories of philosopher and activist Judith Butler be used in social work? This workshop conveys central concepts such as gender, recognition, vulnerability and ethics and shows practical application possibilities. Interactive reflection exercises make it possible to experience how Butler's ideas help to question social inequalities and develop new perspectives for action. The focus will be on topics such as diversity and non-violence.

The workshop is aimed at social workers, teachers, students and anyone who would like to look at their professional practice from a critical, transformative perspective. No prior knowledge is required.

Dr. CARLA SCHRIEVER, Professor of Social Work | Focus on Social Inequality at the International University of Lübeck. Among other things, she teaches and researches the importance of philosophy for social work and focuses on the often underrepresented work of female philosophers. | Please register by 25.04.2025.
