We cordially invite you to a joint film evening followed by a discussion.
We will start with an exchange about the past protests against the AfD, in which many of us were involved together. How did we experience the protests? What have we achieved and what challenges remain?
Afterwards, we want to watch the film Hamburger Gitter (2018) together, which documents the events surrounding the G20 summit in Hamburg in 2017. The film not only shows the protests, but also the structural problems of police violence and state repression and poses the question right at the beginning whether the G20 summit was "a turning point in German security policy?"
We then want to discuss the question of whether the G20 summit was a turning point in police tactics. What has changed in the last eight years? Which questions from the film are still relevant today, and how can we learn from them?
Why come?
The film evening offers the opportunity to reflect together on how protests and state reactions have developed in recent years. We not only want to look back, but also discuss strategies for the future - be it in the fight against the right, for climate justice or for a society based on solidarity in general.
"The film unmasks a state that wanted to retain control by all means and yet - or precisely because of this - lost it." (taz)
