Captivating jazz vocals

With its compositions, the LEONIDA quartet creates a unique style that combines modern jazz, pop and electronic music to create an atmospheric and narrative sound. The former singer of the Bundesjugend-Jazzorchester, Anja Daumerlang, and pianist Jan-Peter Itze (winner of the Burghausener Nachwuchspreis) focus on a close interlocking of text and music. Their arrangements are characterized by energetic rhythms and soulful melodies. Profound and thought-provoking lyrics add another layer of meaning and emotion to the already captivating music. With their tight interplay and intuitive improvisational skills, the band creates a timeless and modern sound that captivates audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

On the current album "Everlasting (What Will Remain)", the musicians ask themselves what is permanent in an ever-changing world. Line-up: Anja Daumerlang (vocals), Jan-Peter Itze (piano), Max Autsch (drums), Thomas Eilingsfeld (bass).
