Jürgen Sturm Trio

In the organizer's words:

The three met in various bands around Aachen back in the last century. Their playing as a duo or trio can now be heard on eight recordings. Their CD "Guter Stoff" ("Good Stuff") was released in 2007 and continues to guide their interpretations and improvisations around occasional classics from jazz history, one or two cultural appropriations and Sturm ́s compositions.

In the course of time, Lothar Galle-M. and Jürgen Sturm developed the interlocking of their playing. "Similar to the left and right hand of a pianist" was the postulated goal. Since 2007 they have formed the Sturm Trio with Hans Günter Eisele. His percussion ensnares, supports (and divides), claims terrain for itself. Often played by Eisele in the lower dynamic range of possibilities, it is both catalyst and illumination for the string instruments.
