KantTheaterBerlin: Brief an den Vater von Franz Kafka

In the organizer's words:

"Of all poets, Kafka is the greatest expert on power."

In a way, this sentence by Elias Canetti describes the glowing core of Franz Kafka's work, from which all other themes in his life can be derived. The confrontation with the father is a duel to the death, the son actually has no chance in this battle, he is too weak, too small, too flat-chested, but since he throws himself into this battle like David against Goliath, with all his cleverness, his perspicacity, his tenacity, with his grotesque humor - perhaps he does have something of a chance.

Anette Daugardt and Uwe Neumann play this exciting battle in their own version from different perspectives and in changing roles.

Globe Berlin summer season "Power & Powerlessness"

From 20.6. to 13.9., the Charlottenburg Globe Berlin is once again the venue for real popular theater in a unique open-air setting. The current program includes plays by Shakespeare (German/English), Goethe and Schiller, as well as word art evenings and swing concerts. Until the reconstruction of the former Schwäbisch Hall circular theater building on Sömmeringstraße is possible, a ring-shaped catwalk made of wooden components of the future Globe will serve as an open-air stage. The audience sits in the middle of the action. Admission costs between 20 and 26 euros (concessions 16 to 21 euros). Tickets can be booked via www.globe.berlin, directly from Ticketmaster and via the usual advance booking offices (plus additional costs where applicable).
