Kapelle Petra HAMM TOUR 2025

Kapelle Petra name their ninth album after the city in which they live and of which most people only know the train station. A local train platform aptly forms the artwork, a symbol of arriving and moving on at the same time, shot in an interplay of light and shadow. The light falls on the "Freibad Pommes", to which the band pays tribute in a cheerful uptempo style, as well as to the unforgettable atmosphere of riding barefoot on a bike into the wet afternoon as a child. The light asks "When is Saturday again?" and shines from the weekend onto the week, which loses all its weight for two days. The light even takes pleasure in how people simply "don't want to decide" in "Zwischending" and realize: "There will always be room for me between the chairs." Because that's exactly where Kapella Petra play better than ever, between the chairs of pop music and indie rock, with instrumentation that sounds both delicate and catchy, vulnerable and determined. It's as if Bosse had stepped up to the mic with Nada Surf and they jammed a little with They Might Be Giants during the break at the barbecue in the courtyard. A farm where the unloved thistles are allowed to grow until they actually bloom beautifully months later.
