Kiera leaves St. Petersburg to study in Berlin and struggles to reconcile her dreams with her migrant reality between seminars, jobs and fear of the future. Translating texts, she searches for ways to resist and find her own voice while navigating expectations from family, partners and herself.
"Zungenbrecher" is Karina Papp's debut novel and at the same time a multilingual translation. In a shattering world, it sensitively tells of the search for love, hope and belonging - and of how language shapes identity.
