Wallis Bird, known for her explosive mix of Irish folk, rock, pop and soul, is coming to the KASSETTENDECK in the Altmünsterkirche in Mainz. Her performance in the first summer of the pandemic (2020) in Mainz at the Fenster zum Hof Open Air is unforgettable, when her solo performance was first threatened with cancellation due to a thunderstorm, but was then quickly made up for the following evening and turned out to be heartbreakingly dreamlike. Now she has once again accepted the invitation of the Musikmaschine concert agency to return to Mainz - this time in the enchanting atmosphere of the Altmünsterkirche - a concert experience not to be missed!
Then as now, Wallis Bird's music often focuses on herself and raises issues that are difficult to deal with - topics such as trust, alcohol abuse, stagnation, self-censorship and self-improvement. With her extraordinary creativity, but above all her joy and empathy, she carefully addresses each topic. Bursting with ingenuity; and audacity, she is the epitome of Bird's uninhibited creativity - a testament to her highly regarded and fearless temperament. Wallis Bird has been wowing audiences with her musical force for over a decade and has played over 1000 shows in that time. Her blend of Irish folk, rock and pop has earned her several international awards to date, including two Irish Meteor Awards (national Irish music prize) and the German Music Writer's Award in the Rock/Pop category. Her irrepressible energy on stage is one of her trademarks; even the Irish Times once noted that "she could kick-start the economy of an entire country with her energy".
Wallis Bird, an artist full of love, soul and empathy, lives in Berlin with her partner, surrounds herself with like-minded people and friends in her art - and has built her career on her own two feet from the very beginning. She campaigns for women's and transgender rights, against racism and injustice, for acceptance and constructive conflict resolution.
TICKET CONCEPT: We offer three prices and you decide for yourself which one you want / can afford. Nevertheless, there is free choice of seats, none of the three prices has advantages or disadvantages compared to the other two. Only "single super" tickets are available at the Box Office.
