After a career spanning twenty years, you might think Kate Nash has seen it all: The singer and songwriter, who lives in London and L.A. and landed a number one hit with "Foundations" on her debut album in 2007, has won prestigious prizes such as the Brit Award, shone as an actress in the wrestling drama series "GLOW", was involved as a performer and artist in the successful musical "Only Gold" and was portrayed in the award-winning documentary "Kate Nash: Underestimate the Girl". Today, at just 36 years old, Kate Nash still has just as much energy as she did on the first day. In June, she released her fifth album "9 Sad Symphonies" on the legendary Kill Rock Stars label, which has also released legends such as Elliott Smith and Sleater-Kinney.

The album marks another new musical direction for the multi-talented artist: inspired by nostalgic Hollywood aesthetics, vintage musicals and a determined attempt to bring out the beauty in decay, Nash has recorded ten dreamy and cinematic songs. According to Nash, the evolution of her sound is due to the way she works as an artist: "The things I do are always based on my feelings." The creative foundation for "9 Sad Symphonies" was laid during the pandemic, when Nash was first confronted with the feeling of not being able to move forward artistically. Once her creative energy had finally returned, work began on a high-quality produced album with a unique narrative quality, lovingly crafted string arrangements and a deep and great beauty. The melodic songs, radiant on the surface but complex and nostalgic underneath, were created under the special conditions of the remote collaboration between the singer and her producer Frederik Thaae, but which give the album a high-quality and multi-layered quality all of its own: perhaps it is precisely the special challenges that make the album such a determined and unique work, as personal as it is connectable, courageous as it is subtle. Fans of Kate Nash can now experience the artist's unique energy on stage at three concerts in Germany.
