What if AI writes your own life story? The performance THE WEIRD AND THE EERIE takes us into this field of technologically advanced identity construction. Author Thomas Köck and musician Andreas Spechtl, supported by percussionist Katharina Ernst and saxophonist Annea Lounatvuori, confront their digital images in a hybrid installation by Michael v. zur Mühlen and Martin Miotk. In a virtual environment, they are confronted with themselves - more precisely: with avatars that have been fed and trained with their memories and voices. All texts - as Köck explains on the controller - are created live. Real-time author: the AI. But can this narrator be trusted? The group - which has already realized the award-winning video essay OPERA - A FUTURE GAME in this composition - initiates a fascinating game with the strange and the spooky. At the latest when the avatar in the digital house of childhood conjures up its very own ghosts, the question arises: Who actually owns our memories?
