We are very much looking forward to the moderated afternoon with Katja Kulin and Geliebte Orlando as part of our first LIT.festival. Not only are we big Virginia Woolf fans, our bookshop is also based on the great writer's motto: "He who robs us of our dreams robs us of our lives."

At a dinner in London in 1922, Virginia Woolf meets Vita Sackville-West, ten years her junior, and is both fascinated and intimidated by the tomboyish aristocrat: beautiful, scandalous and a successful writer, she is very different from Virginia, who feels inadequate in all areas. But Vita is also enraptured by Virginia, by her nature, her spirit. Friendship turns into intoxicating passion. And a tragic love that will not only have a significant impact on Virginia's life, but also on her work.

Katja Kulin was born in Bochum and has lived in a small village in the Voreifel region since 2018. She studied German and educational science and writes novels, biographies and non-fiction. Her biographical novel 'The Other Man' (2021), which tells the love story between Simone de Beauvoir and Nelson Algren, was published by DuMont.
