Julia (Tabea Kötter), an ambitious journalism student, enjoys her seemingly perfect life until a tragic traffic accident takes her boyfriend Henrik from her life. The loss plunges her into deep grief, from which she finds it difficult to recover. Her friend Larissa (Caroline Kötter), a young educator, tries to give Julia new courage to face life. Eventually she persuades Larissa to take a break at a remote stud farm in the countryside, far away from the painful memories. At the idyllic farm, surrounded by majestic horses, Julia meets Mathias (Nils Rohwedder), a young man who is deaf. Despite their different ways of communicating, a special bond develops between the two. But Julia's insecurities and the challenges her feelings bring with them repeatedly threaten to stand in the way of their budding relationship.
