"The Odyssey". Speech opera based on Homer (world premiere, commissioned by the Beethovenfest Bonn)

Homer's epic about the odyssey of a group of companions, one of the oldest and most influential poems in world literature, is staged with powerful sounds and images. Director Simon Solberg and Beethovenfest Fellow Ketan Bhatti want to open up a variety of perspectives on the mythical tale - with the unusual musical-theatrical form of spoken opera. Music and language rub up against each other, influence and challenge each other, only to merge again and again.
