Keziah Jones
Keziah Jones gained a reputation as a unique musician and charismatic performer with a unique "hard funk" style. In 1992, he released his debut album "Blufunk Is A fact", which contained the worldwide hit and now classic "Rhythm Is Love".
Keziah has since released six studio albums, which have produced further hits, including "Where Is Life", "A Million Miles From Home", "Beautiful Emilie", "Femiliarise", "Kpafuca" and "1973".
Keziah cites Fela Kuti, Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix as important musical influences. His now legendary sound is described as "blufunk" - a mixture of punk-funk attitude and Yoruba rhythms, which he has developed further over the years. A true live artist, Keziah consistently performs at shows and festivals around the world.
Kokoroko
"Today we're taking you on a journey" - Kokoroko make this promise to their fans at concerts. And they keep their word:
Within a very short space of time, audience members can embark on a musical journey around the world, from London to West Africa to East and South Africa. The jazz and Afrobeat band Kokoroko was founded in London in 2014 by trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey after she realized on a trip to Kenya that the English Afrobeat versions of her childhood bore little resemblance to the original music - she wanted to change that. She quickly found like-minded jazz musicians in Cassie Kinoshi (saxophone), Richie Seiywright (trombone), Oscar Jerome (guitar), Yohan Kebede (keyboards), Oscar Jerome (bass), Ayo Salawu (drums) and Onome Ighamre (percussion) who wanted to create a modern version of UK Afrobeat with her. Kokoroko draws on the personal family histories and identities of its members - all of whom grew up in London, but also have roots in West, East and South Africa. They process this cultural mix and the resulting positive and negative experiences in their music. They manage to effortlessly form a melting pot of influences and experiences, shaping a new Afrobeat future.
future. Their unique music is created through the combination of synthesizers, percussion, guitars and horns, which combine to create dreamlike melodies - lyrics are not missed at all. Both the restless energy of London and the relaxation and ease of
After their song "Abusey Junction" quickly became a viral YouTube hit in 2019, they released their first EP "Kokoroko" in the same year. The song now has over 65 million streams on Spotify, proving the huge appeal of this band. The long-awaited debut album "Could We Be More" followed in 2022, as well as another EP "Three Piece Suit" in 2024, which increasingly broke away from the conventions of the jazz and Afrobeat genres. On last year's European tour in particular, they impressively demonstrated just how much they have succeeded in doing so: the show is bursting with energy! Whether at the renowned Coachella Festival or small basement clubs in London - anyone who has experienced Kokoroko live once will want to do so again and again. Anyone who is already infected by Kokoroko fever or would like to be will have another opportunity to do so in late fall of this year: At four concerts, the band will also be taking their German audience on a journey - and from what we hear, this time then with their long-awaited second album! The first

RAH & The Ruffcats
As one of the most sought-after and technically adept bands in the German live music scene, the Berlin-based Ruffcats are something of an institution. Comprising some of the country's most respected session musicians, the eight-piece band bring together all their diverse influences and create a unique interpretation of the music they love as "The Ruffcats".
Since their formation in 2007 and through their live jams at the Bohannon Soul Club in Berlin, The Ruffcats have established themselves as the backing band for artists such as Georgia Anne Muldrow, Sweet Charles, Lady Alma, Jaguar Wright, Miles Bonny and many more. In and out of the studio, they have also worked continuously with German soul singer Flomega, and in 2013 the Ruffcats were the touring band for the first Voice of Germany winner Ivy Quainoo.
In the meantime and for over a decade, Rapturous Apollo Helios, better known as RAH, has made a name for himself as one of Berlin's most outstanding rappers, songwriters and singers. Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, RAH's music has always been influenced by his surroundings and a rich history of black music, from hip-hop to soul and of course
Afrobeat.
Since moving to Berlin, RAH has made a splash in the German capital with his weekly Swag Jam sessions. At these live events, he has not only been able to demonstrate his skills as an exceptional MC and improvisational genius, but has also attracted the likes of Erykah Badu and Bilal to the stage.
After crowning his move from Lagos to Berlin with the release of his debut album "How Far?" in 2018, RAH began the next stage of his sonic adventure by teaming up with his longtime friends, the band "The Ruffcats". Their first single together, the Curtis Mayfield-influenced "Shieing Sands", was released that same year to great acclaim, and it wasn't long before both parties were working on a larger project together. After a pandemic-induced break, their collaboration began to bear fruit, and this July they will release their debut album.
The album, titled "Orile To Berlin", chronicles RAH's move from the area he grew up in Lagos to the German capital he now calls home. It's an LP steeped in Afrobeat and highlife, but with funk sensibilities and a hip-hop attitude. Produced by Jochen Ströh, the producer of Ebo Taylor's classics Love & Death and Appia Kwa Bridge, and the mixing engineer for Pat Thomas and the Kwashibu Area Band, it has a strong production background. It represents their own version of Afrobeat within the unwritten laws of this music and without trying to deliver a Fela Kuti copy.
