KID EMPRESS - Live im Planetarium

In the organizer's words:

Let Kid Empress whisk you away to another universe for an evening of boundless music under the planetarium dome.

The members of Kid Empress, Anna Gosteli, Baf Scheipers, Sam Hylton, Joscha Arnold and Severin Rauch, got to know each other while studying jazz music in Basel. After participating individually in various pop, hip-hop, rock and indie projects, the band members joined forces again to combine their musical experience and creative energy in a new project. They combine musical genres that one might think are worlds apart with a playful and perhaps even childlike approach. Rock with breakbeat, industrial with pop and electro with a penchant for Scandinavian clarity suddenly combine to create a new, harmonious sound.

Their songs are a homage to different cultures, without a specific musical home. Kid Empress' socially critical lyrics call for diversity - both in music and for equality in love - but also leave room for dreaming and wonder. Or, as the members would say: "Immerse yourself in the music and allow yourself to see the world through the eyes of a child."

The live performance on Friday, 21 March, will be accompanied by Dominik Schatz(LICHTGESTALTEN) with 360-degree visualizations on the dome of the ESO Supernova Planetarium.
