Fingerprints, abrasions from materials, tire marks, traces left behind by the perpetrators at the crime scene, such as a hair - these could be valuable clues that point to the course of the crime or the perpetrators in a criminal case. But how do you search for clues without creating new ones? How do you find out when perpetrators are trying to put someone on the wrong track?
When Detective Inspector Markus Schmieder from the
92 arrives at the crime scene with his suitcase, the work of securing evidence begins: what do you need to look out for, what instruments and tools do you use? How can even the smallest traces be recognized? How and where can they be stored as evidence?
