The paradise of childhood? Looking back, that's easy to say. In reality, however, the little ones are not just "cute". And childhood is not the happiest time of their lives for everyone...

This is shown by the stories of the Siegburg authors' group LIT.ELF: a kaleidoscope about this peculiar phase of life that we all have to go through.

On April 23, bookstores, publishers, libraries, schools and reading enthusiasts across Germany will be celebrating a big reading festival on UNESCO World Book Day. A regional tradition has become an international event: in 1995, UNESCO declared April 23 to be "World Book Day", the global holiday for reading, books and the rights of authors.
