Kinderbuchlesung „Sulwe“ von Lupita Nyong'o

An open reading of the book "Sulwe" by Lupita Nyong'o will take place on 24.06. at 10.00 am. The story of young Sulwe, who learns to appreciate her dark skin tone and her own beauty through a magical dream journey, will be told for children aged 3 and over.

That's how valuable self-love and acceptance are!

Sulwe's skin is the color of midnight. She is darker than everyone in her family. She is also darker than all the children at her school and is ostracized. That's why Sulwe dreams of lighter skin: she wants to be as beautiful and radiant as the color of dawn or midday light. But neither the biggest eraser, nor make-up or light-colored food can help against the darkness of her skin. But then she dreams of the sisters "Day" and "Night" and learns more about the different nuances and shades of beauty. The next morning, Sulwe glows with happiness and self-confidence: she is dark and beautiful, radiant and strong. Like the night.

This touching story not only encourages children to love themselves more, but also to be more tolerant and treat each other with respect!
