Kinderfest bei Mendelssohns

In the organizer's words:

It's finally that time again: the Mendelssohn House Leipzig invites you to the Children's Music Festival. The museum, garden and coach house open their doors with a colorful program for children and families.

In the garden, children can play, mumble and make things. The Sportmobil, Springburg e.V. will transform the festival meadow into a landscape of marble runs and wooden games, some of which were also in vogue during Mendelssohn's lifetime. A printing workshop and a make-up stand round off the outdoor program, while in the Remise there will be various workshops for drawing and dancing.

Of course, our popular museum quiz is not to be missed; great prizes await resourceful puzzle fans. Drinks, ice cream and snacks will also be available.

The festival will be accompanied by the summery sounds of the Schola Cantorum sparrow choir and the Kurt Masur School, which will bring the festival to a close with musical scenes from the childhood and youth of the Gewandhaus conductor of the same name.

Concert times:

10:00 - 10:30 a.m. - Opening concert: "Kurt's Big Dream" - Scenes from the Kurt Masur Music Theater of the Kurt Masur Primary School

15:00 - 15:30 - Closing concert: "Sommerklänge" - Concert with the sparrow choirs of the Schola Cantorum

In case of rain, the children's festival will unfortunately have to be canceled.
