Kinderprogramm: Workshop Schwarze Held*innen

In the organizer's words:

In this workshop, children and young people are introduced to personalities from Black* history in an artistic way. To this end, the organizers use the literary diversity of the Theodor Wonja Michael Library and introduce them to the figures who have fought for Black* freedom in various ways. Inspired by this, the children and young people, who are guided by experienced artists, draw a superhero figure for the respective person. The aim is to present children with Black* role models who have acted outside the clichés, for example in the sports or music scene.

The Black History Month program takes place in cooperation with our Office for Integration and Diversity. The workshop is offered by the Theodor Wonja Michael Library in cooperation with the Sonnenblumen Comunity Development Group e. V.

*Black people = chosen self-designation that addresses all people who themselves have an African or Afro-diasporic (e.g. Afro-Caribbean, Afro-American, Afro-German) background.
