In the organizer's words:

The Honigfabrik is opening the doors to a very special cinema event this evening. We will be showing the film "KUESSIPAN" by Myriam Verrault, a coming-of-age drama about two young women from Québec's Innu community. The focus is on the challenge of preserving cultural identity and developing a personal identity. We offer snacks and drinks to go with the film, and afterwards the room remains open for an exchange in a cozy atmosphere.

About the film:In her adaptation of Naomi Fontaine's novel, Myriam Verrault tells the story of growing up between tradition and modernity in a humorous and touching way. Mikuan and Shaniss grow up together in an Innu community in Québec, Canada. The two women have been best friends since childhood and have sworn to always be there for each other. But with puberty, the first problems and a first love emerge. Mikuan wants to free herself from the shackles of her origins and dreams of a life outside the reservation - of education and her boyfriend. The film is at the pulse of her life, stunningly acted and refreshingly directed.
