Kiosk Session // Pambu Ensemble

In the organizer's words:

The Pambu Ensemble plays its own arrangements of music from a wide variety of musical traditions with sensitivity, experimentation and passion. The four musicians Sophia Grest (cello), Derin Farhad Hussein (violin), Hadi Andywi (riq, darbuka) and Hannah Heuking (clarinet) combine their musical homelands and biographical influences and find a common chamber music-like sound for their favorite pieces. Their repertoire includes melodies from Arabic, Kurdish, Turkish and Western musical worlds, some of which are interwoven and reinterpreted with elements from their own compositions and improvisations.
