Kirchentage 2025

In the organizer's words:

From April 30 to May 4, 2025, long-time fans and newcomers to the Kirchentag, young and old, people from East and West, with and without religious affiliation, will flock to Lower Saxony's state capital for five days of celebration, reflection and discussion at 1,500 events. 'No democracy works in aggression mode' (Hartmut Rosa). But it cannot be taken for granted either; it has to be actively practiced every day. We demonstrate this in Hannah Arendt's birthplace, where the Kirchentag was founded in 1949. Our slogan #courageous - strong - courageous (1 Cor 16:13-14) calls us to take heart and be energetic, alert to the pulse of the times and eager to discuss issues. As President, I am really looking forward to these five days, which we have been preparing for a long time."
