Marie loves Hans - Hans loves Marie. But Hans is a stranger in town, and Marie is supposed to marry Wenzel, the son of the landowner Micha, to settle an old debt. The cunning matchmaker Kezal even offers Hans money if he renounces Marie. Surprisingly, Hans accepts - or is it a trick?
