The Klezmer Quartet Heidelberg picks up on the current style of European and American klezmer interpreters and at the same time manages to revive the playing style of the old klezmorim from Eastern Europe. Over the years, the group has built up a repertoire that is primarily dedicated to klezmer music, but also integrates the music of other ethnic groups, as was customary with the klezmorim in the past. Traditional melodies serve as the basis for their own cosmopolitan arrangements or as inspiration for their own compositions. Each song has its own world - sometimes it is rough and explosive, the next moment it is the soft and tender tones that touch the soul. Entertaining and informative anecdotes give concertgoers an insight into Jewish culture and the musicians' spirited performance and joy of playing create an atmosphere that captivates the audience.
