While the computer is still rendering the future, the Austrian pop'n'rock newcomers are calmly hacking our present. Tommy Coconut, Armageddon and Schamanin are Kobrakasino's first signs of life since their debut album Sonne, Mond & Dynamit was released in 2023. The three singles float nonchalantly through our eardrums and into our brains, painting colorful pictures of a world in flux. Multi-layered pop arrangements, compressed German lyrics and dancing rhythms lull us into hallucinations of stone deserts, surreal lovesickness and the jungle-like cities of a solar-punk utopia. With a smile on their lips, Kobrakasino manipulate the code of our reality: doom is postponed, those who want to fly should learn to fly and Gen-Z rules. If anyone was looking for a glitch in the Matrix, here it is. Christina Stürmer's cyber clone describes the three songs as "social criticism that you can not only cuddle to, but also dance to."
