As a text workshop for German-language authors aged between 18 and 35, the KOELNER SCHMIEDE promotes the literary voices of tomorrow.
Over six months, on three editing weekends and with a final reading, the KOELNER SCHMIEDE accompanies young authors on the big step towards their first publication. Professional speakers work with the participants to help them sharpen their focus on their own texts, and invited guests offer points of contact with the literary world. At the same time, the KOELNER SCHMIEDE invigorates and enriches the literary life of North Rhine-Westphalia by promoting young talent projects and associating them with the federal state.
Julia von Lucadou and Denis Pfabe led the 2024/25 cohort. At the final reading, the participants will present the edited texts to an interested audience.
