kohero Salon zum Sammelband ,,raumnehmen’’. Eine Kooperation mit korientation e.V.

In the kohero Salon, migrant authors read from their books in a cozy atmosphere. After the reading, you will have the opportunity to talk to the authors and discuss together.

In September, three authors from the anthology "raumnehmen", which was published this year by korientation e.V., will be guests: Sina Balke-Juhn, Dan Thy Nguyen and Kim Ly Lam.

In this volume, Asian-German people tell stories, poetry and pictures about their experiences in Germany - of racism, pain and loss, but also of joy, resistance and love.

• How does anti-Asian racism manifest itself in everyday life - in language, clichés, attributions and tacit ignorance?
• How do Asian-diasporic people experience this racism and how do they learn to deal with it and empower themselves?

Afterwards, there will be space for exchange and discussions with the authors and the audience.

About our guests:

Sina Balke-Juhn works at the intersection of communication, diversity and organizational development. She is the director of an educational institution in Hamburg and works as a project-related speaker and moderator.

Dan Thy Nguyen is a freelance theater director, actor, writer and singer in Hamburg. In 2014, he developed and produced the play "Sonnenblumenhaus" about the Rostock-Lichtenhagen pogrom. Since 2020, he has been running the Hamburg festival "fluctoplasma - 96h Kunst Diskurs Diversität" with his production company Studio Marshmallow.

Kim Ly Lam produces content for the internet as a journalist, format developer and content creator. Since 2022, Kim Ly has been educating people for RTL with @Die_Parallelklasse about anti-Asian racism and the colonial era, among other things. With her private TikTok channel @kimchikohl, she comments on world events and shares her passion for anime, films, music and gaming.
