What is Cologne music? Carnival, yes, too. But above all folk, punk, pop, rock'n roll, country, hip hop, heavy metal and blues. All these styles and many more have been played in the last seven editions of the "Kölsche Musik Bänd Kontest".

This year, 12 bands once again proved that "Kölsch is like carnival".

Stadtjeföhl qualified for the KMBK-FINALE on 30.05.2025 in the Alteburg on 28.04. in the Ubierschänke, who were able to inspire with modern pop sounds and wonderfully melodious vocals. On May 5, the Katharina Reissdorf Band won the race at Zimmermanns and proved that repeated participation pays off: this is the second time that the musicians around the powerful-voiced namesake have reached the final. The preliminary round at Chlodwig Eck on May 12 was won by Famölsch - a family band with a unique line-up and likeable songs from everyday life in Cologne. Halvlang won the final preliminary round, blow-drying the audience's hair back on May 19 at Piranha with melodic folk-punk in Kölsch.

The expert jury in the Alteburg will include Sabine Heinrichs from WDR and Ralf Hohn from Radio Altstadtwelle. While the KMBK team counts the ballots, nobody has to be bored: KERK UND BAEND, KMBK winner 2022, will provide musical entertainment with Kölsch rock. Five bands of all kinds will perform in a top location with Free admission and the audience can vote. The Alteburg beer garden will provide refreshments.
