KOMPAKT 500 - Die Ausstellung

In the organizer's words:

This exhibition is dedicated to a Cologne company. Like carnival and Kölsch beer, it stands for tradition and continuity. A first house on the square, but with soft walls and wide-open doors. Expansion and reinvention are just as much a part of the core business as the straight bass drum, garnished with a touch of Hildegard Knef's lust for life. The principle of "no more than necessary" wanders through the present with a simple dot as its trademark. A manifesto of self-determination and aesthetic minimalism. As befits techno, it is not cataloged by stars and starlets, but by sober numbers. 500 does not yet count years, but catalog numbers of their own production, a milestone that is now to be celebrated with this exhibition: For over thirty years, Kompakt have been influencing and inspiring the world of music and art with their work.
