"A Room Full Of Voices" - 24 hours of music and texts by female* artists - poetic, touching, controversial and feminist!

Embedded in the social and artistic issues of our time, pianist Fidan Aghayeva Edler, together with Nina Guo and Mareike Hein, will present more than 300 pieces by 115 female* composers, including 20 world premieres.

After a very successful first 24-hour Women Composers Piano Marathon at the end of August 2024, the in-depth musical exploration of the artistic work of women composers is entering its second round at St. Elisabeth Church. Together with Nina Guo, soprano and performance artist, pianist Fidan Aghayeva-Edler and actress and visual artist Mareike Hein will expand the spectrum of piano works performed to include the voice.

For 24 hours, they will create an echo chamber that combines contemporary piano music by women* with the performative aspects of voice and language. This includes the performative exploration of principles such as pause - melody - repetition - solo and duo - dissonance and harmony, but also questions of artistic perfection, authenticity and staging, solidarity and carefeminist practice in the artistic world.
