Children's conference - future playground invites you to help shape the future

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the playground on Hohenzollernstraße (zitty.Familie, Klosterstraße 96-98, 40211 Düsseldorf) will be transformed into a place of the future from 2 to 6 pm - with secret corners, new buildings and a star guest from another time.

The children's conference, organized by Düsseldorfer Büdchentag e.V. as part of the Büdchen Open series, invites children aged five to twelve to get creative, develop their own ideas and help shape the city of tomorrow.

It's not just about crafting, painting and building - it's about having a say. At various stations, children experience how co-determination, creativity and urban design belong together. Whether it's building places of their dreams, the participatory podcast Radio Dada, the print bar for their own posters or the Musehum, where children's art is exhibited - their ideas are in demand everywhere.

The children start at reception with a map and set off on a hands-on course. A stamp is given for each station visited - at the end, a surprise and the official conference badge await.

A central element is the voting station, where the children mark on a ballot paper what they would like to see in their city: more playgrounds, fewer cars, colorful walls or wild gardens? The results will be documented and incorporated into the future work of Büdchentag e.V. - because children should not only be heard, but also taken seriously.

There will also be food, drinks, popcorn, bread on a stick and a very special visitor: star guest Wolframus, who will talk to the children about visions of the future in a secret location.

The children's conference sees itself as a contribution to more cultural participation, ecological education and child-friendly urban development - playful, creative and serious at the same time.
