Beikircher's Christmas special
The quietest time of the year is the loudest in our cities. So it's okay to throw cinnamon stars on stage, isn't it?
Konrad Beikircher's Christmas special has little to do with contemplation. Rather, it's about the ironic and comical madness surrounding the festive season, which haunts families every year during the holidays between wrapping paper, Christmas roasts and tree decorating. After all, Beikircher does not have an easy relationship with Christmas. The fact that his birthday is two days before Christmas Eve caused him trauma as a child: birthday presents were only given on December 24th - and then they were socks, shirts and underpants.
So it is inevitable that this mixture of storytelling, readings and cabaret interludes will not only strike a festive note. Delicious, offbeat, hilarious and cuddly stories and poems by Brecht, Kästner Hüsch and Loriot alternate with personal anecdotes from Christmas in South Tyrol. The one or other song and the one or other rheinis
About me
From Konrad Beikircher
I was born on 22.12.1945 in Bruneck. Bruneck is in South Tyrol. South Tyrol has been part of Italy since 1918.
Just on the subject: "You speak good Cologne for a Bavarian." - "I'm from South Tyrol." - "Ah yes, I was just about to say: for an Austrian, you speak good Cologne." - "South Tyrol is in Italy." - "But not for long, right?"
I played the harmonica at 1 (my mother says), the piano at 4 (but not for very long) and the violin from 8 (but in such a way that I wanted to become a full-time violinist at 20). At 5, I drove Ruth home from kindergarten on her scooter every day, then Emmi at 6 and today I'm 76 and have five children (you see: you should be damn careful when driving a scooter).
After leaving school I went to Vienna, wanted to study newspaper science and psychology, but didn't get around to it because of all the state opera and wine taverns, so at the end of 1965 I went to Bonn to actually study psychology, musicology and philosophy.
