Turkish singer-songwriter İdil Meşe weaves stories of love and loss, beauty and truth with the impact of a modern bard.
İdil Meşe, who has won audiences worldwide with electronic music and hip-hop collaborations, tours internationally with her acoustic performance that represents the raw, emotional aspect of her songwriting. İdil Meşe interprets her own songs in a contemporary folk style with her voice and classical guitar. German multi-instrumentalist Jesper Poelke accompanies her on guitar, mandolin, banjo, Irish flutes and classical flute. In her full band she is also accompanied by double bass, cello, electric guitar and percussion. İdil Meşe has been releasing her acoustically arranged songs on Turkey's oldest independent label Ada Müzik since 2019. In addition to her own compositions, she sings Turkish tangos and nostalgic songs. Influenced by Turkish, Irish, Breton and American folk music, her live sets encompass a wide range of musical styles. In her live improvisational performance project İdil Meşe Sound Experiments, inspired by Turkish nostalgia, she explores soundscapes between song form, poetry and improvisation.
